Hi from BlackMatch on the final day of racing in the 2008 Hardy Cup.
 
Today we took on Keith Swinton in the semi finals which we won 2-0, this set us up for the best of 5 final against Evan Walker who had defeated Laurie Jury also by 2-0. Evan had shown throughout the week that he was going extremely fast, although Laurie won both of his pre-starts convincingly, Evan and his crew 'out-sailed' the Kiwis in the semi final. In our final against Evan, he again showed superior boat-speed and won 3-1, leaving BlackMatch to finish second overall in consecutive regattas.
 
Congratulations to Evan and his crew, they sailed extremely well and progressively got better throughout the week. We look forward to returning home tomorrow for a short break, before we head over to Europe for a season of match racing.
